someone has said it better but something like - my mere presence makes tptb go insane. That's what Louise and the green grocer refusal to live the lie means to me.

If you watch the video or read the transcript, her self-defense before the judge and prosecutor was awesome too.

Great piece, Jodi! A welcome and powerful reminder that actions like Louise's invite others to find ways to resist. I look forward to reading more!

Thanks so much for your feedback, Margaret! More to come for sure. There is so much great NCI testimony, as you know.

Thanks so much, Meg -- and much appreciate your sharing. I loved Louise's NCI testimony. There are many gems like hers in the whole set of them.

Many apologies for the late response. Day job has been much on my plate lately. May I also say that I love the name of your SubStack?

Thanks Jodi, I still dream of a theatre company called 'Sinking Isthmus Theatre Company'. It is quite the mouthful and that makes me giggle. (hehe) But a theatre company that is free from federal grants is a a serious and achievable goal! I saw James Topp when he stopped in Amherst NS on his cross country march to protest the vaccine mandates and he ended his talk by telling people what they could do to keep up the fight, and he looked right at me and my gay son and said, "write plays'.

What a mandate you both now have :) You heard it from him first.
